To comment on a blog,
Scroll to the bottom of your page where you see the dialog box that says "Comment"
Write your first and last names in the box BEFORE you begin to comment
Begin to write (in standard English, free of basic errors) about your classmate's post.

1.  Name the classmate
2.  Summarize what the person has written
3.  RESPECTFULLY react to it (what you like about the person's post, why you have chosen to respond to this PARTICULAR post, what are the strengths of the post or why it resonates with you, and finally any suggestions you might have for the person to improve his/her post).

Note: Your suggestion MUST be something constructive that would help the person; for example, you may say "While your SMART goal has most of the qualities of a SMART goal, you could have included the conditions under which your SMART goal will be achieved, because not including this makes the goal vague to your reader."

Remember to take a look at the Blog rubric BEFORE you begin so that you can be reminded on how your blog will be assessed for this activity!

Happy Blogging!

A smart goal that I found most intriguing and appealing was the goal of Jalen Jones. Jalen Jones goal was to accomplish applying level's of questioning to a text by utilizing Costa's level of questioning, 95% of the time. This goal was most interesting to me because it showed how a person wants to improve developing/ generating questions that a person can understand and answer. This goal covers generating questions and also contributes to annotation as well, basically killing 2 birds with one stone. I also like that he is gonna use Costa's level of thinking as a template to help improve and accomplish his goal. It's a very nice goal that I have no suggestions to.

i am responding to Nathaniel Rodriguez. Honestly, I believe that his goal was specific for 3 reasons. One, he made it clear when he wanted the goal to be completed. Two, he made it clear what exactly his goal was and used percentages in order to specify what he wanted. Finally, he explained that he wanted to complete this goal in order to identify the author reason for developing the text. I found this goal interesting because its very important to find details in texts because it can uncover different meanings behind why someone wrote the text,

I think that Jeily Antigua goal is very specific as far as not only stating what her goal is but also stating what she is going to utilize in order to achieve her goal.I like how she said that she is going to identify the author's tone through the use of analyzation of the authors diction and also by underlining the key details.I think that her goal doesn't need any further improvement.

I agree with Sebastian's understanding of Jeily's padlet post. I like how he pointed out how specific her goal is and the specific steps she's gonna take in order to achieve this goal such her using the author's diction and key details to identify the author's tone. He didn't mention this in his response but I also like how Jeily set a time period for her self to achieve this goal that is attainable and not nothing to strenuous.

I am responding to Gavin Seebalack and I like how he plans on using efficient key vocabulary and key points because the amount he chose is more than enough to analyze the tone of the text. But, I think he should aim higher with his percentage of how much he should practice this skill. Try 80-85% instead of 75%.

The smart goal that caught my eye was that of Nathaniel Rodriguez. He clearly stated what he wanted to achieve and when he wanted to achieve it. He also specifically stated how this would aid him and better his ability to analyze a authors purpose in a text by using 4-5 details from that text.

A goal that I found most intriguing was that of Shon's. Shon was very specific with his goal. He was also specific with how he will reach that goal. For example, he said that he wants to be better at annotating. This shows his specific goal that he wants to accomplish. He also said that he is going to use 5-7 pointers of annotation to accomplish this goal. This shows a specific way of how he will accomplish this goal. If I was to change something in this goal, it would be to put a specific percentage instead of saying 80-85%.

I am in agreement with Nathaniel that Shon's goal was very specific. Nathaniel noticed that Shon had included how he will reach the goal, and what he is trying to accomplish, which was that he wants to get better at annotating. Nathaniel also noticed that Shon was going to use 5-7 pointers to annotate in the proper way. Nathaniel said that he would change something in Shon's goal, which was tp add a specific percentage of 80-85%.

The smart goal post that resonates with me the most is Nailiya Johnson’s smart goal. Nailiya's smart goal says in short that she wants to expand her vocabulary 80% of the time in a text by using the surrounding words in the text to find the meaning of that designated word in the text each time she is given a passage. Overall , I like how her post clearly states what she wants to achieve and a specific time period she wants to achieve it in. I also like how she gonna use context clues to find the meaning of words which would broaden her understanding of text. All in all, I have no suggestions for this post because I feel that it’s a goal that she can manage the time period she gave and not something strenuous that she can’t achieve in that amount of time.

A smart goal that resonates with me is Jalen Jones goal. Where as the writer he set out to be able to apply levels of questioning to a text through the use of Costa's level of questioning 95% of the time they encounter a text. This goal resonates with me the most because I can also relate to struggling with asking in-depth questions when encountering a text. Something that I overcame by also using Costa's House of Questioning. What I like about this goal is the writer clearly states what they want to accomplish and the resources they will use. While also keeping in mind a time constraint, so that they can achieve the goal in a timely manner. Something I would ask the writer to improve upon is being a bit more specific on what leveling of questioning they want to be asking, instead of keeping the variation of questions very general.Whether that be level one, level two or level three questions, are they aiming for a specific level of questions?

The smart goal that I am responding to is Nathaniel Roberto Rodriguez and there were some specific reasons for his goal that i agree with. One reason i liked his goal was that he made the time of completion very clear, which was at the end of the academic year, June 2020. Another reason why I like this goal is that he includes what he wants to accomplish and how often he wants to accomplish this, at least 80% of the time. Finally, he includes that by using 4-5 specific details he will arrive at the author's reason. I found this goal interesting because by finding key details in the text you can always find different meanings and why someone wrote it.

I think that Malikaya Richards goal is very specific. She wants to achieve her goal by the end of May 2020 and achieve analyzing the main ideas in text and use her 3 levels.

The smart Goal that stood out the most to me was Jalen Jones, His goal was specific on what he wants to achieve in this class as well as how he's going achieve this goal of by using Costa's levels of questioning 95% of the time . I am also able to point out that his goal is measurable because he set an reasonable time set to have this goal achieved by the end of the second semester. I choose this goal because Overall this goal is a well organized smart Goal.

The SMART goal that has resonated with me is Nathaniel Rodriguez's goal for many reasons. One reason is that he clearly states when he would like to finish his goal, which is June of 2020. Another reason is that he states how often he would like to perform his goal, which is 80% of the time. Lastly, he stated how his goal would help him in the future to, which is to find the author's purpose of the text. I understood what author's purpose meant, however, he could have mentioned the meaning of it to give the reader a better understanding of his goal.

The SMART goal that stood out to me the most was nathaniel's Rodriguez's goal because his goal is very specific and focuses on analyzing the authors purpose. He also states when he wants to accomplish his goal, what percent of the time he wants to use it, and how it would help him.
